With more than 30 years of experience, real estate veteran Lori Horn, a Cheviot Hills resident, has been tapped as vice president of conventional property management for Culver City-based Goldrich Kest, one of Southern California’s largest and most diversified real estate companies, announced President Carole Glodney. In that capacity, she will be responsible for the eponymous company’s 54 conventional apartment properties containing nearly 7,000 units and 5 marinas with 2,097 slips located throughout California. Horn will oversee a team of directors and regional managers as well as 200+ onsite personnel and support staff.
Before accepting her new position, Horn served as vice president of the Southern California region for the John Stewart Company. Since 2001, she was responsible for the management and operations of more than 150 affordable multi-family communities containing some 10,000 units. And, prior to that, was vice president and director of property management for Casden Properties.
Horn is a graduate of UCLA where she received her bachelor’s degree in economics. Her professional affiliations include serving on the board of directors of the Pacific Southwest chapter of the Affordable Housing Management Association (AHMA). She is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Certified Credit Compliance Professional (CCCP) and National Assisted Housing Professional - Executive (NAHP-E).
“We are delighted to welcome aboard someone as uniquely qualified and experienced as Ms. Horn,” said Glodney. “Her knowledge of the industry and significant track record will help Goldrich Kest as we continue on our path of growth.”
Recognized as one of the nation’s most successful real estate companies, Goldrich Kest is a privately owned, family-run business that can trace its origins back more than 60 years to two entrepreneurs, Jona Goldrich and Sol Kest,
who parlayed their meager savings into an empire. Today, the second generation of the Goldrich and Kest families, referred to within the company as “G2,” continue to build upon the company’s ever-expanding portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial and retail projects.
Among them are 120 apartment buildings with 13,188 units, 5 marinas, 24 senior living facilities with 4,248 beds, and, scattered throughout the US, more than 9.4 million square feet of commercial, industrial and retail space. Over half of its apartment buildings accommodate low-income families and Goldrich Kest offers free after-school and summer programs to keep its young residents engaged and eager to learn.
