Sheet polystyrene is one of the varieties of modern polymeric material based on styrene monomer. It is a practical, lightweight plastic widely used in medicine, food processing, design, construction and renovation.
The manufacture of the extruded polystyrene is carried out from styrene monomer beads mixed and extruded with a blowing agent: CO2 for current thermal performance (0.035W / (mK)) or HFC gases for higher thermal performance (0.029W / ( mK)).
Without going into too much detail, we can say that polystyrene is obtained by polymerization of the styrene monomer (colorless, oily, toxic, flammable and liquid aromatic organic compound at temperature and pressure ambient).

The density indicator determines the degree of transmission and accumulation of moisture. Low numbers mean that the moisture permeability of polystyrene does not exceed 2% of the mass of the sheet, but this is only an approximate designation.
It can be said that polystyrene foam is one of the types of foam, however, the process of manufacturing these materials is different.As a heat-insulating material, polystyrene foam is much more effective than polyfoam, but more expensive as well.
