[Brisbane, 17 May, 2016] – Centenary Memorial Gardens provides a tranquil final resting place on the outskirts of Brisbane. The location is surrounded by bushland reserve and is arranged with water features, landscaping, flowers and benches for a peaceful reprieve of those who are grieving. The vast reserve spans 40 acres and has six available burial sites.

Golden Wattle Lawn

The Golden Wattle Lawn is a monumental area for burials directly into the ground or into in-ground vaults. The lawn, which overlooks the valley and stream, was designed based on the city’s diverse ethnic and religious requirements.

Monumental Lawn

Located on the rim above the lake and fountains, Monumental Lawn is a formal area with granite monuments mounted on a concrete beam. Burial sites in the lawn are separated by hedges that are slightly taller than the monuments for each family’s privacy.

The Arbor

The Arbor is immediately on the left side of Centenary Memorial gardens upon entrance. It is a lawn of shady Tulipwood trees which serve as in-ground burial sites. Each tree has eight sites.

Lone Pine Lawn

Lone Pine Lawn is a special burial and inurnment area in remembrance of service men and women who fought and paid the ultimate price for the country’s security. The resting place accommodates the Returned Service Person and their loved ones.

Watson Lawn

The Watson Lawn is named after one of the nation’s early prime ministers. Sites in this lawn allow up to three family members to be buried.

Heritage Terraces

The Heritage Terraces is named in honour of people who significantly contributed to both the city of Brisbane and to Queensland. The four terraces are dedicated to: John Petrie (first Mayor of Brisbane), Robert Herbert (Queensland’s first Premier), John Oxley (discovered the Brisbane River) and Daphne Mayo (created the Brisbane City Hall).

All burial sites may be pre-purchased. Additionally, Centenary Memorial Gardens holds funeral services for all cultures and faiths in their Federation Chapel.
