In residential construction, there are several differences between interior and exterior doors.

Both Interior and Exterior doors are part of a beautiful home. There is no major difference between Exterior doors and Interior doors. External glazed wooden doors offer security and weather resistance to our house and include front- and back-entry doors, sliding glass doors, French doors, and patio doors. Exterior doors are typically made of steel, fiber glass or wood and are available in different sizes and styles.

Internal wooden French doors are mainly used for rooms. It keeps away noise out and to provide privacy, especially in the bathroom and bedroom. Interior doors are made of medium-density fiberboard and composite wood and may be hollow or solid. It includes different types of interior doors include louver doors, French doors, bi-fold doors, swinging cafe doors, and pocket doors.

Exterior doors are usually insulated, 1 3/4 inch thick, with dead bolts and knob lock sets, weather seals, thresholds, 3 pair of hinges each, and solid jambs. Interior doors are usually hollow core, with two sets of hinges, 1 1/4 inch thick, with no threshold, dead bolt, or weather seal. They often mount on a split jamb, not a solid one. Exterior doors often have windows (called lites) for viewing visitors or just looking outside. They may be paired, like French doors, and range in size but usually run 3 ft wide and 6 ft 8 in high. Interior doors may be pocket doors, bifold doors, louvred doors, or even half doors. Many exterior doors are metal, fiberglass, or vinyl, interior doors may be luan plywood, vinyl, or composite construction.

Commercial doors of Fine Doors are another story. Exterior doors are often aluminum framed glass doors (storefront doors), but some are security doors, or even higher rated. Interior commercial doors may be fire rated, sound rated, or security rated as well. They are often either solid wood or hollow metal, with metal jambs. Again, with the wide range of possibilities it is hard to describe all of the differences or types available.
