Erbium-doped fiber amplifier and raman amplifier are the most common type of optical amplifiers used in DWDM systems. Before launching these two new types of optical amplifiers, Fiberstore offers a wide range of DWDM system amplifiers, such as booster amplifier, In-line amplifier and pre-amplifier. This time, we have updated two new types of the DWDM system amplifiers. They respectively are raman amplifier and inter-stage EDFA amplifier for DCM supported.
Erbium-doped optical fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) have low noise and can amplify many wavelengths simultaneously, making the EDFA the amplifier of choice for most applications in optical communications, especially in DWDM systems. As we know, in the long distance transmission, CNR distortion and CSO distortion extremely appear in the CATV system induced by dispersion. Dispersion compensation module (DCM) is coiled with dispersion compensating fiber to optimize the system performance. Fiberstore developed the optical amplifier special for dispersion compensation module insertion (ie. Inter-stage DCM supported EDFA amplifier), which amplify input power below DCF non-linear threshold, then enter dispersion compensating module, finally enter the second stage amplifier, and send signal to transmission fibers. It is worth noting that this Inter-stage DCM supported EDFA amplifier do not include the DCM module. It can get better performance when it is used in conjunction with our DCM modules (DC1000 Series). With our solution, signals have been actual success transmits to 600km on digital television and to 400km on digital-analog hybrid television.
