Did you know that you may now be eligible for employment sponsorship under the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (subclass 482) visa program even if you’re position is part-time?

Recent changes were made during the month of August 2018 to the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (subclass 482) visa program. Firstly, the standard requirement is that in order for a nomination to be approved, the position associated with the nominated occupation must be full-time and genuine.

However, there is now a possibility for the associated position to be approved if it is part-time. The decision to approve the position is discretionary and must be supported by a strong business case.

Secondly, there were changes made to the Labour Marketing Testing (LMT) arrangements for the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (subclass 482) visa program. All nominations lodged on or after 12 August 2018 are required to adhere to the prescribed period in which the LMT must have been undertaken, the method and content of the LMT advertising requirements and to provide evidence of the attempts to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Australians.

For more details on these requirements and additional requirements based on the occupation nominated please visit the Department of Home Affairs Website or contact our office on 0481 370 002 to book a consultation.
