CAMEROON INDUSTRIAL FISHERY SARL, a Cameroon-based aquaculture startup, has joined the LaunchUp program by FasterCapital as it seeks to raise $75,000 to accelerate the development of its industrial fish farming operations near Kribi, Cameroon. The company is on a mission to reduce the country’s fish import dependency by leveraging sustainable Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology to produce high-demand fish species locally.
Through its vertically integrated aquaculture model, CAMEROON INDUSTRIAL FISHERY SARL aims to boost local production of fish, fry, feed, and fish by-products—addressing a national fish deficit of over 130,000 tonnes annually. The project will contribute to food security, employment, and the broader economic development of the Central African region.
Commenting on the partnership, Hesham Zreik, CEO of FasterCapital, said, “We are proud to support CAMEROON INDUSTRIAL FISHERY SARL through our LaunchUp program. Their innovative approach to aquaculture addresses urgent food and sustainability challenges in Africa. This is exactly the kind of impactful entrepreneurship we want to foster.”
He added, “Aquaculture has the potential to reshape Africa’s food systems, and companies like CAMEROON INDUSTRIAL FISHERY SARL are leading the charge with scalable, sustainable solutions.”
Ndjene Sylvain, Partner and Managing Director at CAMEROON INDUSTRIAL FISHERY SARL, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Joining FasterCapital's LaunchUp program is a major milestone for us. With their backing and our commitment to innovation, we are confident we can reshape Cameroon’s aquaculture landscape and become a regional leader in sustainable fish production.”
Based in Cameroon, CAMEROON INDUSTRIAL FISHERY SARL is now actively raising $75K to expand its operations and begin the initial phases of development for its seawater-based industrial fish farming complex.
