The community will be invited to join us at the Church of the Apostles in Coppell, TX for the blessing of the animals on the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, which is Saturday, October 4, 2014. There will be food, music, pet tricks and more.

On October 4, 2014, the Blessing of the Animals will be conducted by Father Tim Cherry at the Church of the Apostles, located at 322 South MacArthur Boulevard, Coppell, TX 75019. Everyone in the Dallas and Fort Worth area is invited to bring their pets.

The Church is right next door to the Coppell Dog Park. It should be a terrific day.

Church of the Apostles is located in Coppell, TX, (a suburb northwest of Dallas) and proclaims the Good News of Jesus Christ among the surrounding cities of Coppell, Flower Mound, Carrollton, Farmer's Branch, Grapevine, Plano, The Colony, Irving, Dallas, and beyond.

All animals are welcome and owners are asked that they be leashed or created appropriately.

In the Scriptures, the act of blessing means ‘The imparting of power or life.' The person performing the blessing is mediating that power from God or Christ to the person performing or the animal involved. To bless is more than an expression of goodwill and caring. To bless is to impart God's power in person! The blessing of each animal, by name, means that health, healing and life are being mediated from God for the benefit of the animal in its relationship with its human partners.

God bless all creatures great and small
