With printed newspapers losing subscribers every single day, individuals are finding other options to stay up so far by using their news. When approximately 62 million newspapers were sold in the country daily paper sales reached their pinnacle in 1970. Nonetheless, together with the population in the U.S. on the rise, newspapers sales are not keeping up. It's projected that approximately 55 million newspapers are sold daily.

In the 1920's the common paper purchased per home peaked at 1.3. In the 1970's that figure started to dip to below 1 paper per house. By the year 2000, the amount dropped to.53 newspapers per home.

One reason is the fact that folks simply don't read as much as they used to. People seem to be more active then ever and just don't take the time to read.

By seeing the big three network news and cable news programs in place of the paper many are changing their news habits. With a lot of options on TV news, it seems that there's a news station for each preference.

While many "older" adults still favor newspapers, "young" adults have seemed to prefer to get their news in the internet. TV news is the most got news source, but the net is quickly becoming the favourite source of news, particularly in the kind of online newspapers, news portal sites and news blogs.

Online news is gaining popularity daily. Almost every major paper has a version of an online newspaper. Leaders like Mike Drudge have been leading the way in independent news providers. And there are countless news blogs across the net.

Part of what makes news blogs so popular is that they can be properly used as an RSS feed. This permits the news feed to be used across the net on other blogs and also allows the news feed. People also love news blogs this creates a dialogue on the storyline that is a great way to feel as if you are a part of the storyline and since you are able to leave opinions.

It doesn't mean that people have stopped reading the news, just where they read their news from, although newspapers might be about the decline. So that it seems that if you are not getting the news online, you may shortly be in the minority.
