The investors were shocked as the Lloyds Banking Group in its half year performance report revealed that, it has reached only half way through its 16 million PPI complaints. The bank is said to possess the highest allocation for mis-selling of PPI policies, which accounts for half of the £30bn industry total.
Lloyds Banking Group has confirmed their intention to resolve half of the PPI mis-selling issues. Since the year 2000, the bank has sold about 16 million policies to customers in the UK. Moreover, analysts believe that Lloyds Bank is likely to increase its bills in the coming years. On the other hand, possibly the last allocation aside from the £700m is said to be added to its refund package this year.
Additionally, HSBC had added about £200m to its £4.9bn total refund package for the mis-sold policies. This is expected to increase further as the FCA has launched its £4.2m advertising campaign to televisions and the Internet.
