BYU selects Workday as its cutting-edge HR and finance system, revolutionizing its operations. Workday's software empowers BYU with modern solutions, enhancing efficiency and streamlining processes.

Brigham Young University (BYU) today announced that it will be replacing its human resources (HR) and finance systems with Workday software. The move is part of a larger effort by BYU to modernize its IT infrastructure and improve its ability to manage its workforce and finances.
Workday is a cloud-based software platform providing a single HR and finance system. The platform offers a wide range of features, including:
HR: Workday HR can be used to manage employee records, benefits, payroll, and recruiting. It also includes features for performance management, succession planning, and training.
Finance: Workday Finance can be used to manage accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. It also includes features for treasury management, risk management, and compliance.
BYU expects to go live with the new Workday system in December 2024. The project is currently in the architect and configuration stage, with the purpose of “ensuring Workday has been designed to successfully transform human resource and finance processes, creating a firm foundation for the future of BYU,” according to the website.
The decision to move to Workday was made after a thorough evaluation of several different software platforms. BYU officials said that Workday was the clear choice because of its scalability, security, and ability to integrate with other systems.
“We are excited to partner with Workday to modernize our HR and finance systems,” said Mary, BYU’s vice president of information technology. “Workday will provide us with a single, integrated system that will help us to better manage our workforce and finances. We believe that this move will ultimately benefit our students, faculty, and staff.”
The implementation of Workday is expected to take several years. During that time, BYU will be working to train its employees on the new system and integrate it with its existing systems. The university has also created a website with more information about the project, including a timeline and FAQs.
BYU is not the only university that has chosen to move to Workday. In recent years, several other colleges and universities have made the switch, including Harvard University, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Michigan.
The move to Workday is part of a more significant trend in higher education. As universities face increasing competition for students and funding, they seek ways to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. By moving to a cloud-based system like Workday, universities can save money on IT costs and improve their ability to access and share data.
BYU is confident that the move to Workday will be a success. The university has a strong track record of implementing new technologies, and it is committed to providing its employees with the tools they need to be successful. With Workday, BYU is taking a significant step forward in its efforts to modernize its IT infrastructure and improve its ability to manage its workforce and finances.
