De Groote Dam is situated in Southport between Hibberdene and Post Shepstone at the coast.

De Group has a number of dam houses including 3 bedrooms at ocean drive north with 9 people holding capacity. Most of the rooms have ceiling and desktops fans. Most of them are spacious bedroom with double bed, dining with bathing and shower. Then there is patio and lounge or dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped.

There are 2 restaurants in the doorstep. The ‘castaways Italian Restaurant’, and the ‘captain’s anchor’. There are amenities close to the place including 10km from port Shepstone, 20km Shelley beach and 60 wild coast sun hotel/resort and other facilities. There are many things you can do once you visit the place.

There is wining and dining, arts and craft, golf courses, horse riding, rock fishing, deep sea swimming, hiking trails, nature reserves, whale and dolphin viewing, croc farms, and many other festivals.

There are houses and flats at cheaper rates. The rooms are pretty awesome with TV and dish, patio for the beautiful sea view, outdoor facilities, safe keeping for personal items, alarm with street lights on, and safe cupboards. There are 3 different kinds of beds. One is the main bedroom with double bed, 2nd bedroom with 1 bunk bed, 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds, fully equipped kitchen with lounge and dining room.

The house also has a second bathroom with bath and shower with a separate toilet. We have flats too. There are 2 bedroom flats which can hold at least 4 people. All rooms are ceiling or desktop fans, 2nd bedroom with 2 separate beds. There is lounge kitchen, kitchen equipped with 6 people with fridge, corridor, freezer, stove, and microwave oven.
