It is the goal of every entrepreneur to scale up their business, therefore, the opportunity given through ‘Pitch Events by EquityMatch’ has made it possible for all entrepreneurs across the world. EquityMatch provided the opportunity for four passionate entrepreneurs to pitch their businesses to an audience of potential investors in the pitch event that was broadcasted on May 11th, 2023 (Thursday).

Massimiliano (Max) Sulpizi, the Founder of EquityMatch, hosted the Pitch Event. Along with being a merchant banker, he is a driven CEO, venture capitalist, and business owner. Max is the managing partner of HSMI-Corporate Advisory and the company's Founder. He has also provided business guidance to clients through this organization in the infrastructure, fashion, real estate, and technology industries. Furthermore, Max provides customers with advice on transactions totaling more than €100 million and fundraising initiatives that totaled more than €50 million. Along with being a board member, he currently guides many growth-stage companies in the technology and healthcare sectors in the EU and HK.

Jasmine Wicks-Stephens, the Founder of Faace (LINK), which is based in England, United Kingdom, was the first speaker in the session. Jasmine mentioned that she has been in the beauty industry for almost two decades and in 2020 she launched Faace, which is a skincare brand that manufactures personal care products. Moreover, she is the Founder of Known Community, which is a public relations and communications service. Furthermore, Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Media. “We were really shocked to discover that actually a million sheet masks were getting thrown away every single day; so, we wanted to be able to provide beauty lovers with a more sustainable alternative, which is how Faace originally came about,” said Jasmine. She also stated that Faace is functioning differently from other brands as they focus on key life moments such as period, menopause, and stress instead of focusing on the skin type. Thereby, according to her, they provide customers with a different new, fresh alternative way to shop that speaks to them in the language that they are using in real life. She also elaborated that Faace works with a lab that specializes in ethical sustainable beauty and as well as housing their products in recycled materials and products being recyclable.

Leo Schuhmacher is the Founder of Future Delivery (LINK), who had the opportunity to pitch his business in the session following Jasmine. Moreover, Leo is specialized in development engineering where he was employed as a development engineer for laser application in a leading company in Germany. He mentioned that Future Delivery solves the problems that the courier service industry is facing as they have a coupling technology for physical in-flight coupling of different drone types mid-air. He also stated that Future Delivery makes fast and direct deliveries where users could reach regional deliveries in one hour and national deliveries in three hours and this whole process could be completely autonomous with low manpower requirements. “We started in 2021 with a proof of concepts and after that, we patented this technology. We have an approved patent in Germany and a patent pending in the EU and we showed this technology at ITS and we got huge positive feedback,” said Leo. According to him, they finished the development of a prototype and the goal is to be the world’s first autonomous coupling between the multicopter and the fixed-wing drone at the end of the year 2023.

Asma Karoobi was the third speaker, who joined the session from Portugal. She is a results-driven product design manager with 10 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and user-centric products. During the session, she mentioned that VGANG is 100% automated where they create a bridge between the stock of the suppliers and the retailers. “We started with the Shopify ecosystem because it was easier for us as a small startup to find both suppliers and retailers and we launched our application in July last year and very soon we received loads of different emails and comments,” said Asma. She also explained that they are receiving the API and starting in developing the AI engine that helps VGANG to understand the process of the taste of the audience of influences and retailers.
