For him, the greatest difference was one of the smallest items in his gift wrap. Instead of snowmen and Santa Clauses, her holiday presents were held separately and wrapped in shiny, birthday papers. Her family did not combine her gifts to end up missing the joy of the birthday.
"The best known birthday of the year isn't easy to share," she said. But my family was trying to really give me a fair chance to celebrate. In combination with letting myself and friends rejoice a few weeks after the day, I never felt neglected or exhausted.'
