The QuickSwitch model 6214 is a fiber optic LC duplex network switch with local pushbutton, and remote DB9 port for switching. This switch uses independent channel control to switch across the three channels, and 3 positions, A or B and Offline.

Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI -- Introducing the newest addition to the QuickSwitch product line of network switches, the model 6214. This switch is a fiber optic tri-channel, 3 position/offline switch with DB9 contact closure remote and independent channel control. The unit is designed using 850NM mirrors to switch and connect each port to the selected position, A, B or offline.
Local control is available via the manual pushbuttons on the front panel of the unit. The position of the switch, A or B, will be displayed using the red LED indicators on the front panel. Alternatively, the unit can be switched to its offline position and totally isolate contact to the A and B ports, illuminating neither LED. On the back panel, there is a DB9 remote port that accepts dry contact closure commands for switch position.
The model 6214 switch uses nine LC duplex connectors, multimode, 50/125 micron, and supports a wavelength of 850nm. All fiber signals are switch via break-before-make MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology and support Gigabit data rates. The fiber ports are configured per TIA/EIA-568-B.3, and the unit is enclosed in a 1U, full rack size, all metal black box switch, designed to fit in a standard 19” rack. The unit requires a 100VAC-240VAC wall mount power module that supplies 12VDC, with a two prong, U.S., non-polarized plug. This power module is included with the model.
This switch can be used in aerospace applications for commercial aviation, business aviation, military and defense, helicopters, space, airports and more. With the option of either local or remote control, the 6214 is fit for any application in which a flow of communication needs to be switched to another port or isolated from the network.
