Nobody Ever Apologised Themselves into Positive Change Right?

**“Look at that there – it’s horrible!”**
**“Sorry, I’m pathetic aren’t I?”**
**“I don’t want to waste your time”**
The longer I’ve worked in this industry, the more I’ve come to notice something…
Many of us suffer from an apology addiction.
We apologies for the vulnerabilities we feel.
Maybe you don’t specifically utter “I’m sorry”, but your actions will scream it subconsciously.
Maybe you apologise by wearing certain shaped clothes or colours, so not to offend anyone with your size or appearance.

Maybe you stopped going to the gym because you felt as if you were taking up valuable space that someone “fit” should be using. Not an imposter like you.
Maybe you apologise by never saying “no”, allowing others in your work and social life to walk all over your forgiving nature.
Maybe you bash your own body in front of others to pre-empt their judgment or curb your portion sizes in fear of what other people are thinking.
Maybe you apologise by never pampering yourself or practicing any self-care at all.
Somehow, you think you have to apologise.
Apologise because of your supposed substandard appearance, or fitness.
When in reality, you have NOTHING to apologise for.
If we meet up for a coffee to chat about your struggles, DON’T apologise to me.
If we chat on the phone about you, your goals and your visions of a healthier life, DON’T apologise to me.
If you join the gym I work in, and we chat about you for the opening ten minutes, DON’T apologise to me.
You have NOTHING to apologise for.
If you’re anything like my past/current clients – you’re a good person who deserves to wear what the hell you want, take any gym space up you'd like to, say “no” to those who need to hear it and practice the self-care that you deserve to indulge in.
Thinking that you have to apologise, and acting as if you have to apologise – is already holding you back.
Forget it, let it go.
Accept you, and be proud of you.
Because nobody ever apologised themselves into positive change right?
