My idea of success is working out of an Eames armchair. At the moment I am tucked away into a corner of a bedroom in a tiny house where I am not sure if my cell phone is going to get enough signal to receive phone call from a client. My husband is in the other room and even with headphones on, I can hear his music production efforts. My cat Liger is meowing at me, demanding that I turn on the bathroom sink for her and knocking my phone off of the nightstand in protest.

Yes, an eames chairs, with an ottoman that would be the start. Charles Eames' chair was made for the highly productive, yet very cool, relaxed, comfortable business person. I believe I will wear a bikini to work, and I'll be 15 pounds lighter. The only reason I can think of that I am fast as I wish is that my stress is causing an overproduction of cortisol, known to keep fat clinging to the female body like mold on cheese. Yes, the stress of not having a private, quiet poolside convertible office of reconfigured potting shed, decorated in shabby-chic, a sleek desk, and an Eames armchair is keeping me from the perfect beach body that I know is hiding in there somewhere.

It has to be there, I saw it when I was eighteen. Of course, when I was eighteen, I wouldn't have appreciated good office chairs, Eames or otherwise. All I wanted was a job where I didn't get sexually harassed. My much older bosses sat on Eames chairs with their feet up and asked me to dinner and concerts. That's how confident an Eames armchair makes a successful business person. No worries about that now.
