Intus Windows, a leading manufacturer of energy efficient windows, is a member of the United States Green Building Council.

“As a member of the US Green Building Council, our company is part of a global platform for improving and advancing the latest innovative building practices aimed at making a more for a sustainable building environment.,” says Aurimas Sabulis, managing director of Intus Windows (http://www.intuswindows.com/), a worldwide leader in the manufacture of high performance LEED-certified window products. “Intus is driven by technology, innovation and continuous progress. By being a member of the USGBC, Intus continues to stand behind its goal in creating energy efficient homes and buildings.”

According to Sabulis, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), co-founded by current CEO Rick Fedrizzi, Mike Italiano, and David Gottfried in 1993, is a private 501(c)3, membership-based non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in how buildings are designed, built, and operated. USGBC is best known for its development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems and its annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building.

“The U.S Green Building Council developed LEED as a way to create a better indoor environment, while also protecting the planet and its resources,” says Sabulis. “LEED is a system that awards points for reducing energy use, improving indoor air quality, and promoting a sustainable building approach.”

Sabulis says that when Intus Windows are incorporated into a project, LEED credit points can be earned.

“For example, utilizing Intus Windows with Guardian SunGuard glass can earn a project up to 34 LEED points,” he explains. “Intus proudly uses Guardian Glass in its triple pane windows and combining the high-tech Guardian glazing along with Intus’ high-performing triple pane window design, results in a window that is both extremely energy-efficient and will qualify for up to 34 LEED points in five of the seven LEED categories.”
