With a current trip to the Plastics show in Orlando Florida, I spoke with most of the granulator manufacturers. While they encourage their customers to buy OEM blades from their store, it is more of an afterthought when compared to a business model.

The fact remains that most OEM's don't manufacture their very own blades. Blade sizes and configuration are more an issue of machine design and utility. Besides, if you want a new car battery, you will most likely to go a reputable battery manufacturer than to get back to the vehicle brand that it comes.

What about the question of how to maintain the blades. After all, you'll need to think about the expense of the blades and ways to get probably the most out of them. Granulator blades are believed Industrial Knives. Industrial Knives cover a wide selection of industries that use specialized knives, or blades, inside their respective process. Therefore, you'll need to locate a specialist in the Industrial Knife business with a solid trustworthiness of quality and integrity.

Another important consideration is material. A high quality tool steel provides you with the longevity for the particular process. The absolute most standard material used is D2. D2 is also known as tool steel and is really a high-carbon, high-chromium steel. D2 could be hardened to 64rc giving it the hardness for endurance and impact resistance. Have you got a supplier with manufacturing capabilities that understands the proper tool steels and hardness characteristics? Understanding that the OEM does not make the first blades that are found in the newest machine, who would they outsource to? More often than not it comes down seriously to price, keeping the price of the machine down.
