HISTORY: The .32-20 Winchester was the first small-game lever-action cartridge that Winchester produced. It was initially introduced as a black-powder cartridge in 1882. The name .32-20 refers to the 32 caliber bullet of .312-inch-diameter and standard black-powder charge of 20 grain. Colt produced a single-action revolver chambered for this cartridge a few years later.
Brass case mouths MAY not be perfectly round from the manufacturing process, this can be corrected by running brass through the size die (always recommended) prior to loading. Residue from the annealing process may leave a stain on the case neck that can be removed by tumbling. Annealing involves rapid heating then cooling to impart the shell cases with the proper hardness to securely hold bullets in place and provides flexibility to expand and contract through multiple firings handloaders expect.

This beefed up, elongated .357 Magnum has also been chambered in Dan Wesson revolvers as well as several single shot rifles and pistols including the T/C Contender. Game laws in several states have changed, and are now allowing pistol caliber rifles for deer hunting, giving new life to this once obsolete cartridge.
