Under the leadership of Dr. Devi Charan Shetty, Principal, I.T.S. Centre for Dental Studies and Research, Ghaziabad, 28th ISDR was organized in I.T.S Centre for Dental Studies and Research, Murad Nagar, Ghaziabad from 18th to 22nd November 2015. The hard work and organizing skills of Dr. Devi Charan Shetty was well seen in this five day conference, attended by Indian and foreign delegates. More than thousand registrations from dentists and guest speakers from various parts of India, America, Britan, Australia, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, South Korea, China, Iran etc. were welcomed by Dr. Devi Charan Shetty along with the other dignitaries. Two news reports were published on 23rd November 2015 in Amar Ujala and Nav Bharat times, Ghaziabad edition regarding the success of the conference organized in the college campus under the direction and guidance of Dr. Shetty. It was the unshakable will power of Dr. Shetty that he was able to convince Mr. Varun Gandhi, Member of Parliament, to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. On persuasion by Dr. Shetty, Mr. Varun Gandhi spoke on various concerns that the dental fraternity is facing today and assured that he will throw light on some of these issues in the parliament. The occasion was also graced by Dr. R.P. Chadha, Chairman of I.T.S The Education group, Dr. Hari Parkash, Director General and Dr. Vinod Sachdev, Director of I.T.S Centre for Dental Studies and Research, Ghaziabad. Dr. Shetty gave a powerful welcome speech at the occasion. Being the Principal of the college, Dr. DC Shetty made sure that there was no delay in the scientific schedule, all guests had a clear idea where to proceed, and that the guests enjoyed their stay and all five days programme at the campus. All this would not have been possible without the untiring efforts of an efficient team which was constantly motivated by Dr. Devi Charan Shetty during the months of strenuous preparation. Dr. Shetty led from the front and chose the theme of Dental research for the conference. The theme chosen by Dr. Shetty was appreciated not only by undergraduate and postgraduate students but also by both junior and senior faculty members. Dr. Devi Charan Shetty received wide acclaim from students, dental practitioners and teachers from various dental colleges in Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana, Uttrakhand, Bengal, Chandigarh for organizing a flawless dental conference, which benefitted students far and wide. Laurels of Dr. Devi Charan Shetty have travelled far and wide in the dental fraternity due to his love for students and the work, and because of his dedication and will to achieve what others complain to be impossible. Dr. Shetty’s care towards his patients has been recognized since a long time, and now his increasing interest in dental research is helping the students, faculty as well as the patients. Dr. Shetty has always stressed on providing the highest quality of knowledge to his students and thus organized a large number of conferences in the reputed institution of I.T.S. Centre for Dental Studies and Research, Ghaziabad. The conference which was a grand success, is just another feather in Dr. Shetty’s cap.
