Founded by Navy veterans, Michael and Artricia Heard, Draeh Studios was created to publish online and mobile video games that entertain all players from beginners to experts. “The key to our success is the team’s unrestricted sense of humor and sheer delight for games to create an addicting experience,” said Michael Heard, CEO of Draeh Studios.

The idea to create a video game company arose when Michael needed a local internship to complete his undergraduate studies in video game art and design at Tampa’s Art Institute. Michael and Artricia, both retired United States Navy veterans decided to combine their individual talents, one for game design and the other for business operations, into a winning combination. Together they are building Draeh Studios to be a fun place to work and create video games as well as a platform to offer internship opportunities that will support economic development in Tampa Bay.

In June 2013 Draeh Studios moved operations to the second floor of Tampa’s historic Sykes building at 400 N. Ashley Drive to participate in the Tampa Wave Business Accelerator program. The Accelerator’s mission is to help entrepreneurs turn ideas into growing tech businesses in Tampa Bay. Draeh’s management team is actively working with the Accelerator’s mentors, advisors, and operations team to fully implement the Build-Launch-Grow framework. “The experienced Draeh Studios team has the creative talent and industry know how to create great games that entertain”, said the company’s mentor Tim Hayes, a 14-year veteran of Apple and successful serial entrepreneur. “Their enthusiasm and passion for outstanding games is driving them towards great things.”

“We are working hard on our first game and we will announce a video game title contest later this month”, said Artricia Heard, COO of Draeh Studios. “We’re excited about the new challenges ahead as we are in the first quarter of developing our first game,” continued Artricia. “We look forward to partnering with local area colleges and universities to offer internships and collaborate with other game artists to “Live the Game” to serve the local community as Tampa’s preferred video game developer.”
