Idea Architecture’s main service is to take a client’s house concept and develop it to a point where it becomes a concrete plan. Aspects such as aesthetics, energy efficiency and customer preferences weigh heavily on the design process. The process involves three major steps.

• Sketching the concept. This is the first process where the idea is just that, an idea. The client has a picture of what they want the dream home to look like and the aspects that they would want incorporated. Expert architects at Idea Architecture combine their experience and skills with the client’s input to create an early hand drawn sketch of the design concept.

• Creating the design model. This is where the sketch is given a more accurate and technical feel. Every line, distance and elevation is represented accurately. With this model, the client is able to get a deeper look at the house and all its details. A lot of colour is included in this design to give it a more in-depth feel. At this stage, the client can request for a digital version of the model, called a BIMx file. This interactive file can be viewed on a computer or tablet.

• Documentation. This is the final stage of the process. All the documents relating to the design and which will be required during the actual construction are put together. They include elevation plans, floor plans and so on. Comprehensive documentation is provided to ensure that the client does not have to keep coming back to the architects.
