The aim of this symposium was to bring pharma professional and medical practitioners together in one platform. The topic “Safe and Effective Medication” in healthcare systems continues to evolve from a product focus to a patient-centered care system ensuring the safe and responsible use of medications in all practice. It also provided a platform for the researchers to present the finding of their research work and discuss the outcomes with the experts in different areas.
The program was started by a very informative lecture on Safe and Effective Medication in Pregnancy by Dr. Satish Pingal, Medical Officer, Indian Red Cross Society, Uttrakhand State Branch. Renowned academician Dr. Ajay Semalty, Asst. Professor, HNB, GU delivered a lecture on the Role of Pharmacists for Ensuring Safe and Effective Use of Medicines. Tuberculosis: Past, Present, and Future were enlightened by an eminent speaker and scientist Dr. Narotam Sharma, Scientist Dept. of Biotechnology, SGRR University. Dr. Bhawna Kumar, Asst. Prof, DIT university delivered a very interesting lecture on Correct Use of Antibiotics to Avoid Superbug Infection. Apart from these 20 presentations were made by participants through oral and posters presentations on relevant topics. Four hundred plus delegates participated. Participants participated from different Pharmacy Institutes of Uttarakhand and Chandigarh. The symposium was a grand success.
