David M Daggett CPA was born April 19, 1960, in Delano, California. He only lived in Delano a few months before parents moved to the San Fernando Valley. He lived in Granada Hills, California until he was seven. When he was seven his mom remarried and the family moved to Malibu, California for three years. At age ten he moved to Oxnard, California and lived in Mandalay Bay. His parents were the second family to purchase a house in Mandalay Bay. At one point they had three generations living in Mandalay Bay because his grandparents moved there as well. He and his wife also lived nearby.

Mr. Daggett attended San Diego State University and graduated in 1993. While attending college he worked in a local accounting firm in Carlsbad. After graduating he went to work for the then largest accounting firm in the world - Arthur Andersen & Co. He worked in the tax department for a year and then switched to the Small Business Division. There he performed audits of small to medium sized businesses.

He changed jobs again in 1985 when Deloitte & Touche recruited him to work in the Oxnard, CA office of Deloitte. He worked in the tax department as a tax senior for a few years. He was eventually promoted to Tax Manager and put in charge of many different clients ranging from government contractors to manufacturers and high net worth individuals.

When his grandfather passed away in 1994, David M Daggett CPA took over the family business and helped improve it over a period of just five years. The business produced supplied for police departments and law enforcement members. He sold the company in 2007 and decided to pursue his passion for tax planning. He negotiated and purchased an interest in a local accounting firm. The firm is Lee, Cochran & Daggett, CPAs, LLP where he is currently a partner. It is a full-service firm specializing in tax preparation and tax planning along with audits of pension funds and farming operations.
