The guinea pig has a great fragile bone design. So, their bones damage much easily. Because of these, Ginny should be handled loosely and carefully. Never hug or squeeze a your Ginny tightly. Also, one must be very careful to insure that these pets are not permitted to jump from high surfaces such as chairs, tables or sofas nor dropped from exorbitant heights.
Guinea pigs have a total of 14 toes. Each the back foot each have 3 toes and front paw has 4 toes. When Ginny pigs run or walk, they do so only at these toes. The whole foot rests on the ground only when the pigs are standing.
The scientific name for the guinea is Cavia porcellus. Probably that is why this lovely small rodent is also known as the Cavy. Guinea pigs are undecided discoverer and often uncertain to attempt an escape from their cage even when a chance presents itself. Until they become hail fellow with their owner will they whistle on the owner's views and, if hold properly, are much debonair. They are great for children because they are low maintenance, very simple to handle, do not stink and rarely bite. It is all about guinea pigs.
