Brisbane Powerhouse Holds Free Events Throughout December

Brisbane Powerhouse offers year-round programs for Queensland locals and visitors alike. Apart from sold out shows, they have free events that people can enjoy on certain days of the week.

 
[New Farm, 14/10/2016] – The year is not over yet so to celebrate, Brisbane Powerhouse promotes their free shows and events everyone in Queensland should prepare for.

As the pride and joy of the Brisbane City Council when it comes to art, Brisbane Powerhouse promotes a diverse, vibrant and creative city, making it the place to be and the best one to live in.

Free Events at the Brisbane Powerhouse

The year is almost over, but the fun does not stop with Brisbane Powerhouse, as they list down all the events lined up until December. One thing that these events have in common is they are all free – no entrance fees!

From markets to comedy shows, here are some of the events visitors can catch on certain days throughout December.

The Paper Plate Supper Club became popular after it debuted in May. They will be at the Brisbane Powerhouse all Fridays, Saturday and Sundays until 04 December – definitely good news for fans of Brisbane street food. Their popular dishes include Mums Green Thai Curry, Crispy Potato Cakes, Wild Rissoles and Cornish Pirate Pasties.

For a good laugh out in the city, Brisbane Powerhouse features comedy shows every Friday. Brisbane’s pride, ImproMafia, performs on the last Friday of each month. Free live music is on Sunday afternoons. Livespark presents a mix of genres and on the last Sunday of each month, three musicians are brought together to discuss music with Mix Tape.

Fans of Virtual Reality can come to the Brisbane Virtual Reality Club Meetup on 25 October and 29 November.

Exhibitions such as the Fanciful Fiction Auxiliary and Burger Force are available throughout December. So, for the fans of Pascalle Burton, Michelle Dicinoski, Andie Fix, Janis McGavin, Candice Storey, Fez Fa’anana and Olivia Porter, admission is free!

Jam-Packed, All Year-Round

Every year, Brisbane Powerhouse showcases more than 1,250 performances. They have two main stages, which seat up to 200 and 740 people, respectively. There are three other venues, which seat 80-180 people.

They are open to emerging and independent artists. They create events not found anywhere else.
