Educational Background:

Alison Lowe received her B.A. from the University of British Columbia, graduating with First Class Honours. She also attended Trinity Western University for a portion of her undergraduate study where she was a scholarship student as well as on the Dean’s Honor List. For elementary and high school, Alison attended Vancouver’s Crofton House School. At school and university, she participated in many extra-curricular activities including performing in school musicals and plays, being on the tennis team, Captain of the Multicultural Club, in the Psychology Club.

Significant Work Experience

Alison Lowe has earned the trust of many healthcare professionals. By volunteering for hospitals, and medical and dental missions trips where she assisted hundreds of patients, Alison built a reputation for being careful and methodical. These are traits that carry her well not only in practical environments but in Research positions as well. She has been a Medical Office Assistant and also been Research Assistant on several major projects through the University of British Columbia including being Project Coordinator and Research Assistant for the Psychophysics & Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at UBC and Directed Studies Student & Research Assistant at the K.I.D. Studies Centre at the Culture, Cognition, & Coevolution Lab – UBC, Vancouver, BC

Hobbies and Interests

Alison loves music. At an early age, she took piano and violin lessons. Self-taught in guitar and drums, she plays drums and percussion for concerts, special events and churches. As a singer, she has sung in choirs and musicals.

Alison Lowe is also a writer of fiction and non-fiction. Currently, her non-fiction writing is geared toward academics and research. However, her training in psychology gives her great insight into creating endearing and engaging characters for fiction. A wordsmith of considerable talent, her imaginative mind creates worlds that people of all ages love to explore.
