Inc.’s eighth annual Female Founders list highlights the nation’s top business leaders who challenge the status quo to tackle some of the world’s biggest problems

CLEARWATER, FL, March 11, 2025 – Inc., the leading media brand and playbook for the entrepreneurs and business leaders shaping our future, today announced its eighth annual Female Founders list, honoring Honeyfund CEO and co-founder Sara Margulis as a wedding and travel leader among a bold group of 500 women whose innovations and ideas are leading their industries forward. These resilient entrepreneurs expressed grit and drive to collectively attract approximately $9 billion in 2024 revenue and $10.6 billion in funding.

Each year, Inc. editors review thousands of applications. Criteria include quantifiable metrics such as revenue, sales, revenue growth, funding, and audience size. Inc. also looks for qualitative metrics, including social media momentum and stories of impact.

“As Honeyfund approaches its 20th anniversary, I’m proud of our work to make honeymoon dreams a reality to the tune of nearly $1 billion in gifts,” shared Sara Margulis, who leads a remote team of 30. A champion of women in business, Ms. Margulis leads an executive team of 75% women and a board of 66% women.

The 2025 Inc. Female Founders 500 list spans all industries and includes unique stories of success from each stage of the entrepreneurial journey — from startup to going public, being acquired by big buyers, or spending decades at the helm of an organization.

This past year saw tremendous growth for Honeyfund, rebounding from the pandemic with a renewed wanderlust for travel and dreamlike couple vacations. Honeyfund jumped from position No. 3,837 to No. 436 on 2024’s Inc. 5000 list thanks to 10.3x revenue growth in a three-year span.

Nearly 110,000 couples enjoyed a happily ever after at their dream weddings and honeymoons thanks to Honeyfund in 2024, in no small part thanks to the nearly $70 million raised in gifts and vacation experiences. This helped Honeyfund earn honors from the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the region’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies.

"Female founders know what struggle is, but they’re also experts of improvisation, adaptability, and creativity. The women featured on this year’s list exemplify these qualities. Through times of uncertainty, their unwavering dedication and steadfast leadership are not only inspiring but vital to driving progress," said Inc. executive editor Diana Ransom.

Several honorees will be featured in Inc. magazine’s Female Founders issue, on newsstands March 18, 2025. To see the complete list of honorees, please visit: https://www.inc.com/female-founders
