Sourav Ganguly’s Concern for Team India during India vs Australia Series

Ganguly said, "India has a stronger team as compared to Australia. India has never been up against such a weak Australian side. So, I think India should play well,".

Former Indian National Cricket Team captain Sourav Ganguly wants India’s batsmen to be careful of the 'pace and bounce' at The Gabba, Brisbane. The first T20 had taken place at The Gabba, Brisbane and Australia won the first T20I by 4 runs. The concern of Ganguly was correct.

Ganguly said, "India has a stronger team as compared to Australia. India has never been up against such a weak Australian side. So, I think India should play well,".

Sourav Ganguly feels that the Men in Blue have a stronger team as compared to the hosts and that India has never faced a 'weaker' Australian side, which will see the result go in India's favor but India lost its first T20 match of the series.

The biggest concern for him was that though India has a few net sessions before the tour commenced but have not played a practice match before the three-match T20I series. Team India played its last T20I series at home against West Indies which they easily clean sweep 3-0 but in Brisbane, the players can anticipate plenty of 'pace and bounce'.

The former Indian Captain said that there will be a bounce on the Gabba pitch. The pace and bounce on Australian pitches are completely different from what players get in India. He hopes that Indian cricketers have got used to the pace and bounce in the last couple of days by batting at the nets.

India when announced a 12-member squad for the 1st T20I, Ganguly wanted all-rounder Krunal Pandya to play instead of spinner Yuzvendra Chahal as he thinks Krunal can contribute with the bat as well and that can bring balance to the team.

The India vs Australia 2nd T20I is scheduled on November 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground while the third T20I will begin from November 25. The test series will start next month.

India Test Squad includes Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay, Lokesh Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Parthiv Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
