Virat Kohli who is affectionately called as Chiku by his fans and other his team-mates in the second One Day International on January 15 at Adelaide Oval hit the 39th ODI century of his career.

Chiku which is Virat Kohli Nickname was awarded as the player of the match for his amazing 104 off 112 deliveries. He hit five boundaries and 2 sixes. Virat Kohli got the full support of the former Indian captain MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni is back to Team India after he was dropped from India’s T20I squad against West Indies and Australia as the selectors wanted to try another option for India’s wicketkeeper. MS Dhoni played a slow inning in the first ODI by scoring 51 runs off 96 balls.

But in the second ODI, he has gained his form back. He remained not out and scored 55 runs off 54 balls. He also finished the match in his own style with a six as the best finisher used to do before. Team India leveled the three-match ODI series against the Australia National Cricket Team.

Both the batting and the bowling departments did their job well. Indian bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja bowled 10 overs each.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 4 wickets, Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets and Ravindra Jadeja took 1 wicket for Team India. Among the batting section, Virat completed his 39th ODI century and also had a 50-run partnership with MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni also had a 50-run partnership with Ambati Rayudu. Dinesh Karthik remained not out and made 25 runs off 14 balls. Indian Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan also played well and they made the record for the fourth opening pair in the world and second in India to go past 4000 runs partnership in one-day internationals.

Now the third and the final ODI is scheduled for January 18 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. With this match, India’s tour of Australia will come to end. After that from January 23, Team India will have 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is against New Zealand National Cricket Team. Team India ‘s tour of New Zealand will come to an end on February 10.
