Indian Opener Prithvi Shaw made his test debut against Windies Cricket Team earlier India’s tour of Australia. He scored 237 runs in three innings at an average of 118.50. He also topped the run-scoring charts in the series. Shaw then was selected to play test series in Australia.

But unfortunately, ahead of the four-match series against Australia, he suffered an ankle injury in a practice game. He has to come back to India after his ankle injury and missed the rest of the tour i.e. complete Tests and ODI series.

In his place, Mayank Agarwal played the match. Team India clinched the test series 2-1. This is the historic win of Virat Kohli and his men, this is the first time ever in the history of cricket that Team India won a test series in Australia against Aussies.

Prithvi who was unable to play the test series in Australia is happy for his team to become the first team from Asia to win a Test series on Australia’s soil.

He said, "It was an unfortunate incident and you can't really do anything about that. It was my wish to play in the challenging conditions in Australia. I love the bounce there. But unfortunately, I suffered a leg injury. But that's okay, I am very happy that India won the Test series. It can't get better than this,"

The 19-year old has given his update about his injury. He expects to become fit before the IPL 2019 which will start from March 23. He said, "I will be fit before the Indian Premier League and I am trying hard to reach full fitness. I am working on my ankle as well as on my upper body,"

Prithvi Shaw plays for newly-named franchise Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevils). This will be his second IPL season. He had made an impressive IPL debut in the previous edition. He scored 22 runs in 10 balls in his first match.

During his debut, he became the youngest player to open the batting in the Indian Premier League history at the age of 18 years while playing for Delhi Daredevils against Kings XI Punjab.

Shaw is currently reacquiring fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. It will be interesting to watch the young opener Prithvi Shaw in the IPL.
