Royal Challengers Bangalore is an IPL franchise that represents the city of Bangalore in Karnataka. It plays its home matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The franchise is owned by United Spirits.

The Bangalore based franchise has not won any IPL title yet apart from having the top players in the team. RCB were runner-ups in IPL 2009, IPL 2011 and IPL 2016 but they lost all the seasons. The team was also runner-up in the 2011 Champions League Twenty20.

RCB holds the amazing and unique record of both the highest and the lowest total in the Indian Premier League that are 263/5 and 49 respectively.

It will be interesting to watch RCB in the IPL 2019 season and to know whether Virat Kohli’s team will clinch the IPL title for the first time or not. The upcoming IPL season will begin from March 29.

A month ago before the IPL Auction, RCB has announced the release of 9 players from their squad. The players released include big players like Brendon McCullum, Chris Woakes and Corey Anderson. It also released Quinton de Kock, Mandeep Singh, and Sarfraz Khan.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore new squad for the IPL 2019 is as follows:

Retained Players include Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya, Parthiv Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Tim Southee, Pawan Negi, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Moeen Ali, Mohammed Siraj, Colin de Grandhomme and Washington Sundar

The bought players include Devdutt Padikkal for 20 lakh, Heinrich Klassen for 50 lakh, Gurkeerat Singh for 50 lakh, Himmat Singh for Rs 65 lakh, Prayas Ray Barman for Rs. 1.5 crore, Shimron Hetmyer for Rs. 4.2 crore and Shivam Dube for Rs. 5 crores.
