Australia’s Jhye Richardson replaces Josh Hazlewood for the Upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka

After playing against India, now Australia National Cricket Team will play against Sri Lanka at home. India’s tour of Australia ended on January 18 with Australia losing ODI and Test series against India.

Australia managed to draw the T20I series against India. Now, Australia will play a two-match test series against Sri Lanka. The first test match is scheduled for January 24 at The Gabba in Brisbane and the second test is scheduled for February 1 at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

For the upcoming test series, Australian cricket team will be without the services of Josh Hazlewood as the pacer got injured and will miss the test series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.

Also, Hazlewood was rested for the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Indian National Cricket Team. Josh Hazlewood will be replaced by Jhye Richardson in the upcoming test series against Sri Lanka. In the ODIs against India, Jhye Richardson performed well and impressed everyone with his performance.

Though Australia lost the ODI series against India, Jhye Richardson knocks out Virat Kohli who is known as the best batsman in the world in all the three ODIs. In first ODI, Virat Kohli was out at just 3 off 8 balls. In the second ODI, he was out at 104 runs off 112 balls and in the third ODI he was out at 46 off 62 balls.

In all the three ODI matches, Virat Kohli was out by Jhye Richardson. This performance of him as fixed his spot in the test squad of Australia. Other than this, he took 6 wickets in 3 matches that he played for Australia.

It will be interesting to see Jhye Richardson in test series against Sri Lanka. Moreover, Australia’s test squad is as follows: Captain Tim Paine, Joe Burns, Pat Cummins, Marcus Harris, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Will Pucovski, Matt Renshaw, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Jhye Richardson, and Kurtis Patterson.
