IPL 2019 is scheduled to take place from March 29 and will last till May 19, 2019. ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 whose complete schedule is already out will begin from May 30, just a few days after IPL 2019.

The first match of the World Cup 2019 is scheduled on May 30 at The Oval, London between England and South Africa. Faf du Plessis who plays for Chennai Super Kings in IPL is concerned about the injury of any of his player before the World Cup which will have a bad effect on his team in the World Cup.

Such close dates are a matter of concern for the South African National Cricket Team Skipper Faf du Plessis. He said while talking about the IPL 2019, “The obvious one for me is the IPL. It’s just before the World Cup and the last thing you want is one of your bowlers getting injured just before the tournament. It’s something that is a concern for us and we need to look at how we can play that scenario out best,”.

When Faf du Plessis was asked about the workload on the bowlers in the World Cup, he said, “It’s still too far out to start making decisions now that will impact the World Cup. Probably closer to the World Cup you will see us make decisions like that,” For him, it is important to stay in the present as if they will look at the World Cup whole time then they will lose sight of what’s going on in front of them.

There were more than 50 South African players who registered in IPL 2019 player auction. Players like Du Plessis, Imran Tahir, Lungi Ngidi, Chris Morris and Anrich Nortje are a few who will be playing IPL for the different franchises.
