Cricketer Albie Morkel who plays for South Africa National Cricket Team has announced retirement from all forms of International Cricket on 9 January 2019.

 
Cricketer Albie Morkel who plays for South Africa National Cricket Team has announced retirement from all forms of International Cricket on 9 January 2019. The 37-year old has played for around 20 years.

All-Rounder Albie Morkel had played in Indian Premier League for the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings . He has played for CSK since the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League successfully.

He is good with both bat and ball. His big-hitting abilities and his bowling are consistent which lead CSK to perform well in IPL. In IPL 2010, he made a record of the third-wicket partnership along with Murali Vijay against the Rajasthan Royals .

Morkel played an important role in CSK win in IPL 2011 and is also the franchise's third highest wicket-taker with 91 scalps. Ahead of IPL 2014, he was bought by IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. 2.40 Crore.

In IPL 2015, he was purchased by the Delhi Daredevils (now renamed as Delhi Capitals) for Rs. 30 Lakh. In 2016 IPL, he played for Rising Pune Supergiant. Now as Albie Morkel announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, Chennai Super Kings pay tribute to Albie Morkel.

He has played a total of 92 matches for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and Champions League T20 combined. The All-rounder took 91 wickets and scored 909 runs for the CSK. In CSK IPL victory of 2011, he picked up 15 wickets and scored 138 runs playing the main role in CSK's success.

He is loved and remembered by CSK fans in India for his 28-run over against Royal Challengers Bangalore . As the all-rounder announced the retirement, CSK tweeted: "#Yellove Thanks! Your contributions with the last over smashes and the early wickets will All-Be Missed! #Endrum28 #WhistlePodu,".
