These days’, medicine and medical technology are constantly improving, which is bringing up new advancements in the world of healthcare. Changes in practices and updates of standards are to ensure the highest quality of care & service, which is essential for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (EEC).

One of the most trusted names in the online safety training industry, CPR Professor takes the initiative in updating us about the newly released 2015 CPR guidelines & First Aid updates by ILCOR (International Liaison on Resuscitation). The updates and guidelines on CPR & First Aid are:

[]bFor Bystanders & Healthcare Professionals:

New 2015 guidelines for CPR deals with everyone from bystanders to healthcare professionals, the guideline suggest that the bystanders should understand when to call emergency services and be clear while giving their location.

1. Bystanders, when attending a cardiac patient, should always keep their phone on speaker to hear the dispatcher’s instructions. This will help in efficiently checking the breathing and performing chest compression for 100-120 times per minute in a right way.

2. For people who are trained in on-site or online CPR courses, should perform the First aid for a cardiac patient by doing compressions to breath in a ratio of 30:2.

3. Mobile dispatch systems should be appointed in communities to improve survival rates. These systems will help in giving a cardiac arrest patient a better chance of getting chest compression's faster.

For Hospitals:

It is widely found that on an average 200,000 cardiac arrests happen each year in hospitals alone, In order to address this issue, the new guidelines focuses in including quality improvement and a set of framework for resuscitation systems from community level to healthcare level.

• The guideline suggest that in addition to 100-120 compression's per minute, the compression's should go to depth of 2 inches minimum (avoid going more than 2.4 inches).

• Temperatures should be maintained between 32-36o C for a minimum of 24 hours, which can help in avoiding brain degradation in patients, post-cardiac state.

• The guideline encourages healthcare providers to perform checking for breathing and taking the pulse at the same time, which will make it easy in simultaneously taking the pulse rate.

• For infants there is a change in the CPR guideline, which states that provide oxygen to an infant quicker by starting CPR, when they are under radiant warmer. This eliminates the system of intubating, which was prior set by the previous guidelines.

A senior spokesperson of CPR Professor, quoted.” We understand how important are the new CPR updates, for which thought of taking the initiative in introducing those to common people.
