Cosmo Foundation celebrates its ten years journey of bringing about empowerment through education

Cosmo Foundation, the philanthropic initiative of Cosmo Films organised “Dashabdi Mahotsav” at Patel J.K. Sarvajanik high school, Kandari, Vadodara (Gujarat) on 22nd February 2019.

 
Cosmo Foundation, the philanthropic initiative of Cosmo Films organised “Dashabdi Mahotsav” at Patel J.K. Sarvajanik high school, Kandari, Vadodara (Gujarat) on 22nd February 2019. ‘Dashabdi Mahotsav’ was organised to celebrate 10 years of Cosmo Foundation and its tireless service to transform lives of local community. Event was attended by 500 students and 200 participants including government school principals, teachers and parents along with other dignitaries and stakeholders of Cosmo Foundation.

This event was graced by Mr. Anand Mohan Tiwari, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Gujarat, as chief guest. Mr. Tarun Duggal (IPS), SP, Vadodara was the guest of honour. Other key guests present were Mr. Ashok Jaipuria, Chairman & Promoter of Cosmo Films and founder trustee of Cosmo Foundation and all the trustees of Cosmo Foundation and CSR committee members of Cosmo Films.

On the occasion Mr. Anand Mohan Tiwari, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Gujarat said. “Dashabdi Mahotsav signifies a special milestone not only for Cosmo Foundation, but also for the state of Gujarat. Rural development through educational programs not only benefits local community but also contributes to National Development.”

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ashok Jaipuria, Chairman & Promoter, Cosmo Films & Founder trustee of Cosmo Foundation said, “It is a proud moment for all of us. We had set-out our mission of creating value system of meaningful philanthropy in year 2008. In last 10 years, we have seen significant impact of our educational initiatives in government schools. I am happy to see its implementation in the right spirit. We look forward to achieving more milestones in coming years.”

At ‘Dashabdi Mahotsav’ five best performing students, selected through stringent selection process and third party assessment were awarded Laptops.

Mr Gaurav Kumar, Head, B.Tech (IT), Navrachna University talked about selection process and motivated students to be an active participant in upcoming computer awards.

Cosmo Foundation also felicitated 1 Balmitra, 1 computer teacher, 1 English teacher (all community based teachers) at the event.

Along with educational programs, the Cosmo Foundation is sensitive to the issues of sanitation and hygiene. Prizes were distributed to winners of five best performing schools in Swachh School competition category.

On this occasion, video documentary was screened to give overview and impact of the Cosmo Foundation programs. Local government school students also performed a folk dance on the subject of “Swachhta”.

In last 10 years, Cosmo Foundations initiatives have benefited 21,000 students from 30 schools touching lives of almost 35,000 community members. Their service footprint includes 21 villages and 87 extended villages. During the course of action, Cosmo Foundation has received three prestigious awards namely Africa CSR Leadership Award 2012 for support and improvement in Education, Asia Pacific Leadership Award 2013 for commitment to philanthropy and National CSR Award 2015 for improvement in Education.
