This write-up is for everyone out there who wants to make their 2022 more exciting and special. If you are a fan of Rugby, love playing the game, or just want to add some thrill to your mundane life, be a part of Cork Tag Rugby’s Summer League. The only thing you’ll need is a team consisting of 14 others sharing the same feelings and intentions as yours. The 2022 Cork Tag Rugby Summer League is a nine-week-long event that will run from Thursday 7th May to 14 July.
The popularity of the league is growing with every passing day. Today, it is regarded as one of the top Irish Rugby Leagues along with the likes of Munster Tag Rugby. Over the years, the league has become the favourite of not only the people participating in it but the entire rugby community of Ireland including the top players and avid supporters.
Joining the Social League of Cork Tag Rugby in Highfield RFC will allow you to be a part of a series of fun-filled events both on and off the pitch. You’ll have the time of your life with your teammates when practising and playing as well as during the after-parties.
The best thing about this Summer League is that there are no specific criteria you’ll need to meet as a team for being a part of the league. Your team can join the league irrespective of the level it belongs to and the ability of its players. The cost for this year’s event is €575 per team.
The next most special feature of the league is its venue. Highfield RFC, the venue of Cork Tag Rugby’s Summer League, is one of the best rugby venues in the country. Other than being one of Ireland’s biggest tag rugby venues, Highfield RFC is also famous for its electric atmosphere. It is located right behind CUH or Cork University Hospital. It operates as one of the most bustling destinations in Ireland from April to August. During this phase, the venue serves as the hub for multiple activities. Each night sees as many as 40 teams play tag ruby on the venue. Thousands of people gather there to watch the sport and mingle with friends.
Highfield RFC is home to three standard pitches. The Summer League is played across all these pitches. Each of them has been constructed within a walking distance of the clubhouse. The venue’s clubhouse is impressively spacious and has both outdoor and indoor seating, which allows players to socialise before and after the matches. The wonderful seating arrangement of the clubhouse provides Highfield with a calm and comfortable vibe. All these make it the most suitable venue for tag rugby. To make the atmosphere even more electrifying, the organisers often arrange clubhouse games and BBQ (of course if weather permits).

The opportunity of playing a game in Highfield allows taggers to have an unmatched experience. Anyone who has the desire to feel the excitement of summer tag rugby leagues should be a part of this amazing event. Playing tag rugby is much different from playing any other sport. Experts describe it as a sport that allows participants not only to experience the thrill and passion associated with sporting activities but also socialise with like-minded people. Highfield RFC plays a crucial role in taking the thrill a notch higher.

The relaxed and fun environment the venue offers both when the participants are chilling in the clubhouse and when the game is on makes it a perfect place for hosting social tag rugby. Over the years, people from different corners of Cork have come to this venue to play or watch their favourite sport and develop friendships that would last for life.

If you are wondering whether you should consider being a part of the tag rugby extravaganza, you shouldn’t waste much time and register your team for the 2022 summer event. Whatever might be your fitness level you are eligible to be a part of the league if you have the desire of learning new skills. You are eligible even if you are interested just in making new friendships. Participating in the league will automatically make you a fitter individual. Additionally, you’ll also see yourself become happier than ever before.

Here, it must be mentioned that besides summer leagues, Highfield RFC also hosts Cork Tag Rugby’s Spring leagues. Unlike the Summer League, which runs for nine weeks, the Spring League runs for six weeks. Then, there’s a late summer league, which is organised to celebrate the end of the season. All these leagues enjoy immense popularity. Highfield RFC also hosts Autumn and Winter Leagues.

Any team that wants to register themselves for the leagues should sign up the moment the dates get announced. The limited capacity of the leagues means that if you are late, you’ll not be able to be a part of any of the events.

The leagues run every Tuesday and Thursday in the evening. This allows participants to take part in it after finishing their day in the office.

The Summer Leagues (as well as the Spring Leagues) are played in Trabeg Sports Centre Douglas. Participating in the league would thus allow you to play outdoors on natural grass fields. The leagues organised during the autumn and winter months, on the other hand, are played in Musgrave Park and CSN Cork on Astroturf.
The Summer League is just a few days away. Hurry up and register if you are interested in making your summer months fun-filled.
