COPP Branding is pleased to announce designer Anne Côté is the 2021 recipient of the prestigious Grands Prix du Design award for her groundbreaking display concept created for Ceratec Surfaces.
Anne's new display concept was created as part of a comprehensive and collaborative branding renewal project that helped reposition Ceratec Surfaces as a leader within the flooring industry. Anne Côté designed the new ‘Landau’ display after listening to Ceratec dealers across the country provide insights and pain points they experienced with in-store displays. Anne's experience in set design at Cirque du Soleil was instrumental in helping her recreate the new ‘Landau’ display. She moved away from the standard materials and techniques used in making displays and reimagined a more durable and more stylish display concept. The 'Landau' was built with powder-coated metal using laser cutting and folded metal to introduce innovative curved shapes. Anne’s project team assured all engineering metric requirements and functionality requests were addressed.Remi Godbout, President at Elite Displays and producer of the Landau, remembers how explicit Anne was with the details. "Anne knew exactly what she wanted and would not compromise. She took me out of my comfort zone but together, we created something that excelled." Angelo Vaccaro, Ceratec Surfaces Regional Western Sales Manager, was clear about one thing, "My dealers hate bins. They'll never go for it." But after seeing Anne's newly designed, never-before-seen display, the dealers were sold. "They loved the ‘Landau’... I never thought the western market would accept something like this, but they embraced it." The ‘Landau’ is an excellent example of successful design thinking.
