The Coolangatta Sands Backpacker Hostel, located in the heart of Coolangatta is excited to announce the addition of free live music Thursdays through Sundays. Now you can relax and enjoy your time even more at Coolangatta Sands Backpacker Hostel with some great live music by area locals. Join in the fun with jam sessions in the public bar on Thursday nights and then come back over the weekend to enjoy some of areas most popular musicians.

The Coolangatta sands Backpacker Hostel provides clean, safe, modern, affordable accommodations and is located less than a kilometer from Coolangatta Beach. It is the perfect place for exploring the Gold Coast.

Accommodations include a fully equipped kitchen, spacious hot showers, a TV lounge with DVD player and a movie library. Wifi is available along with three computers. Rooms have beach view balconies and there are on site laundry facilities. The hostel also has a bar and a restaurant.

The hostel has dorm rooms for 4, 6 or 8 single beds and 5 private rooms. All residents receive a designated food shelf for your bed and an allocated shelf in one of the two refrigerators.

During the day one can take advantage of the many activities available in Coolangatta. For the daring, try out tandem skydiving with gold Coast SkyDive. Jump from a plane 12.000 feet up and land on the crisp clean beaches of Kirra Beach. If you prefer staying on the ground then consider a scubadiving adventure or just enjoy some whale watching. If you want a bird’s eye view of Coolangatta and the Gold Coast take a one hour hot balloon ride and top it off with a gourmet champagne breakfast. Of course, if you surf then simply taketo the waves of the Gold Coast. You won’t be disappointed.

After a busy day, come on back to the hostel and enjoy a meal in the restaurant, an evening of live music,or drinks in the public bar “Port’O’Call in the Coolangatta Sands Hotel which sits just below the hostel.

The hostel has undergone a multi-million dollar refurbishment and is a favorite destination for travelers of all ages. Situated right above the Coolangatta Sands Hotel you can enjoy many of the amenities of the hotel as well as the hostel. The hostel accommodates up to 111 guests.
