With a bunch of new features and enhancements to existing ones, the developer team of CCSP made 2016 a good year for all users.

Collabion Charts for SharePoint has been enhanced considerably in 2016, with a host of new and powerful features developed to help users visualize data better than ever.

Collabion Charts for SharePoint (CCSP) went through major updates in 2016, bringing to users a host of new features developed to help them visualize and analyze data faster and with less effort than ever before. The most significant ones among them include the following.

Out of the box support for SharePoint 2016

In early 2016, the team of developers at Collabionstarted working on making the web part seamlessly compatible with the latest version of SharePoint. Their job was done by the time the latest iteration of the platform was released worldwide, which ensured Collabion users got to enjoy complete support for the latest version of SharePoint from the firstday itself.

New Standard Mode enabled for all users

Collabionversion 2.3.0.0. included a new Standard mode for users who only needed SharePoint charting but didn't need to invest in the options for advanced data visualization available in the Pro mode. The standard mode if free forever, and lets users build 55+ varieties of charts with data from most popular types of data sources, such as SharePoint lists, SQL Server/Oracle databases, Excel workbooks, and BDC, as well as many external data sources via ODBC.

Changing chart types for different levels of drill down

Drill down is a unique feature of Collabion Charts for SharePoint, and lets users dive deep into data to extract valuable insights with just a few clicks. The latest version of CCSP also lets users change chart types with every level of drill down, either specifying the changes beforehand, or carrying them out on the fly. This helps users analyze data and also display it properly, on every step.

Connecting to Excel workbooks located in external systems

Earlier, CCSP was able to connect to Excel workbooks stored in the SharePoint document library. However, in the latest version, users can also connect to workbooks stored in other computers on the same network. What's more – the workbooks do not even have to be stored in a SharePoint environment.

Applying dynamic filters to process data

The latest version of Collabion lets users apply filters to chart data on the fly, and watch previews of what the chart would look like those filters are applied. Once users are satisfied with the results, they can apply the filters to the data with just a single click. This helps them slice and dice data faster, without hassle.

Bulk export of charts and configurations

CCSP v2.4.0.0 lets users bulk export charts they have created, as well as the configurations in XML files. They can later import these XML files and restore configurations in a new SharePoint environment. The charts can also be imported, but only one chart can be selected for import at one go. Still, it is way better than having to recreate a bunch of charts.

Overall, 2016 has been a good year for users of Collabion Charts for SharePoint, with a host of useful features made available to them. With more updates and enhanced features in the pipeline, the developer team of CCSP is all set to make user experience even better in the coming days.
