27th July 2015, United States (http://www.realpharmacyx.com/ ): Thousands of females were studied by researches and questioned in Government surveys on the use of antidepressants during the last 90 days from conception. It was found that medicines like Pifzer’s Zoloft, Lexapro and Celexa did not lead to any birth defects. However, few anti depressions drugs did lead to missing organs and ill health of the child, on taking birth. The medicines found culprit in such scenario was Paxil Generic and Prozac, which is still dealing under lawsuit for causing deformities in babies.

Doctors condemn the situation by saying that they do warn patients from not taking medication for anxiety and depression when pregnant. However, there is no control over pre-pregnancy period, where a woman can unknowingly damage her fetus by taking these tablets. Females were reported unsure if it was the pills that lead to such fallback or some other diseases and health issues. Even scientists and doctors are trying to find the root reason for the same.

The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are class drugs, SSRI. These were questioned for safe use but met with ruled harmless use by the Food and Drugs Administration of the U.S in the year of 2005. However, a safety warning was promptly issues for the utilization of anti depression drugs during pregnancy and its treatment. But, not all female knew about these warnings. Sometimes, they did not convey to their doctors about pregnancy and few physicians missed informing them about the repercussions.

The American Medical Association’s journal has published in its June report about heightened risks in babies born with pulmonary hypertension was linked to the mothers who administered Paxil Generic on self. The newborns in such instances were affected as soon on conceiving and developing of body parts and organs. The signs of abnormality in women’s hormones and reproductive health were seen as early as 3 months before delivery. Not all the defects the children were born with were treatable.

Women raised complaints about facing side effects of Paxil, if they stopped using it all of a sudden. But doctors debate by opining that females seldom consult them before taking decision about altering dosage, and some even miss the prescribed dose leading to Paxil withdrawal signs as well. A leading number of females either are diagnosed by anti depression drugs fallouts causing memory loss in few along with dizziness, vomiting and headache, which could be controlled on treatment.

The British Medical Journal had a study published wherein the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted researches to understand risk of child deformities resulted only from selective treatment medicines or the entire antidepressants category. The study included approximately 28,000 females who were administered with medication for anxiety and depression like Lexapro, Prozac, Celexa, Zoloft and Paxil Generic within the first to the third pregnancy month.

The research was able to analyze birth defects seen in babies from women consuming anti depression drugs. A clean chit was passed for Zoloft, Celexa and Lexapro while fluoxetine or Prozac and Paroxetine were detected for passing elements in females that caused misshapen skulls for newborns, cardiovascular disorders, anencephaly (missing sections in skull and brain) and intestines being formed outside the child’s body. The side effects of Paxil in women during early pregnancy were higher than when not pregnant.

However, the resultant risk was small when compared to real figures of Paxil withdrawal during the early phase of pregnancy. Those with child deformities saw a meager difference of only 7 cases in 10,000 than the previous 2 reported cases in 10,000 women. Zoloft was considered the safest of antidepressants during use in pregnancy, though not advisable. While other medication for anxiety and depression could raise the risk of birth defects relatively in the first three months of conception.
