Children’s Books. Homeschooled Characters.

Posted September 22, 2022 by ColbyBooks

There are thousands of books on HOW to homeschool, yet almost no children’s books FEATURING homeschoolers. Over 4 million children homeschool. And they read. A lot, and they want to see characters, just like them, in their favorite books.

In Homeschool PJ Time: A Bedtime STEM Book, release date September 28th, Nina Batina and her
grumpy brother Wild wake each morning, roll out of bed, and celebrate “no bus today, but life
instead.”
And each night, Nina is tucked into bed with a special pair of homeschool PJs to reinforce the
STEM concepts she lived that day.
On Monday, Nina learns of Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion. But, unlike most kids, Nina gets to do Newton
with her muck boots on.
She’s puddle jumping, skipping rocks.
It’s Newton’s law with dirty socks!
When boots crash down and mud erupts,
The splatter gets a big thumbs up.
Each page includes a STEM concept and the entire book doubles as a weekly “sticky-based” planner.
The book touches on physics, astronomy, and fine art concepts for children in the grammar phase of
learning, much like suggested by Dorothy Sayers in her foundational essay "Lost Tools of Learning".
