The outrage of COVID-19 has hit the marketplace of Restaurants pretty hard. Even when everything is settling down, the restaurant owners are still trying to get out of financial crises to get back on track.

That being said, the Government also took a vast initiative and provided the restaurants in Louisiana with the COVID-19 relief package. The package has extensively assisted the restaurant owners to keep their business alive. A survey that was released at the year-end 2020 shows labor cost to the sales ratio of the restaurants has raised beyond the pre-pandemic levels. While the rest of the restaurants (31%) say, their restaurants would have shut without the support given by the Government.

All things considered, including the decreasing number of the fatal virus decreasing every day and given the vaccine is ready; Government has started allowing more and more people to step in the places to eat in Covington. Not just Covington, but the state of Louisiana has increased the number of visitors to step in restaurants and bars at a time have increased in almost all its parts. Announced by Gov.

John Bel Edwards on March 3, 2021, the restaurants are now free to increase their capacity to 75%. Talking about the bars, the capacity is only limited to 50%. Regardless of the cases dropping each day, tight restrictions have been given to the bars. On the other hand, the outdoor events are also allowed to bring 50% of their capacity. Talking about the churches, they are also free to use 75% capacity.

The marketplace of restaurants downtown Covington, LA, and Mandeville is considerably big, and it is sure to benefit from the 75% capacity relief. Guidelines in regards to the Live music were also announced by the governor, that is, live music should be held indoors and that too with extensive guidelines, which will later be directed to the owners. The state of Louisiana is now in phase 3 of COVID-19 restrictions. Apart from the restaurants and bars, gyms, salons also fall in the category of non-essential business, which is still limited to the 90% capacity.

The numbers of the cases of coronavirus cases are dropping down continuously, and we hope the numbers keep on going down as the days pass by. It is anticipated that soon enough, as the graph of growing numbers of cases declines, the restaurants, and other industries will be able to use the maximum of their capacity.

As the fatal virus has started to fade away, people who were holding their craving for food for so long can now consider going outdoors to enjoy their favorite and once again experience the dine-in.
