Software QA now part of IT Curricula at AUF

Angeles University Foundation students should now expect to complete Software Quality Assurance training as a curriculum module within Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree courses.

 
Angeles University Foundation students should now expect to complete Software Quality Assurance training as a curriculum module within Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree courses.

The partnership was announced by CloudStaff Inc and Angeles University Foundation, (AUF) one the leading universities in the Philippines

AUF was founded in 1962 and has a total of 64 academic programs, its main campus accommodates over 5,000 students every semester. Notably, the College of Computer Studies was recognized as one of the Centers of Excellence in I.T. Education by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

CloudStaff Inc is a fast growing technical outsourcing company in the Philippines providing software QA testing to customers in Australia, the UK and USA from its Philippine based testing center for web and mobile applications.

Over the past two years Cloudstaff has worked with AUF lecturers to design the Software QA Testing course which covers the different types of Testing, Economics of Testing, Metrics, Test Planning Process, Test Case Development, Test Execution Strategies, Test Evaluation and Reporting, Project Management aspect of Software Testing.

Prof. Lilibeth Timbol-Cuison from AUF said the University is continuously working to improve the quality of its graduates

“Based on the success of the current program we are considering additional electives to cover Automated Testing,” Professor Timbol-Cuison said.

A significant portion of the students class time is working through test simulations using tools such as TestRail(tm) from Gurock Software.

Dennis Gurock, Co-Founder of Gurock Software GmbH said he was delighted his company’s software can be part of the educational curriculum.

“It’s fantastic that students can now leave University and step straight into the workplace with knowledge and skills in the tools being used by their employer,” Mr Gurock said.

Mr Lloyd Ernst, CEO of Cloudstaff said that during the design phase of the curricula, lecturers from AUF worked at Cloudstaff offices, attended Cloudstaff in-house training, used our tools, and worked directly with some customers to get first hand experience of what is expected by employers.

“The Cloudstaff QA software team are awesome. We have a core team of 4 QAs but as release deadlines approach, we expand the team to 12 testers,” Mr Lambie said.
