Sophia Godwin also know as Sophy-yah hails from Nigeria but making nice waves in the UK. She is a multi-award winner who gave her life to Christ when she was really young. She has passed a lot of spiritual messages, especially to young adults through her music. She has worked with a lot of music legend due to her dynamism and impressive songs that she had been singing since she was little. Panache global excellence award. 

At the 5th panache events which took place At the London Marriott hotel, Sophy-yah sang the Nigerian national anthem and also sang the British anthem as well. Holding the microphone, she thanked God for giving her the privilege to perform at the recent global excellence award. She went further to perform her track "baba use," and just as she expected, the whole crowd were amazed as some danced and danced till their bodies couldn’t move again. The lyrics explained how much she loved God and all that God has done in her life. She didn't stop there, she performed another song titled "Sam Sam" God, and immediately the crowd's went gaga, dancing to every tune and every beat of the song. The loving thing about her song is the fact that she combines both hip-hop and reggae in her song. She left a good memory in their hearts and made them love both hip-hop, reggae and gospel music. Even down to the ending of her song the crowd kept in dancing non-stop, this showed that they all loved both songs and the performance as well.

Sophy- yah believes that with the hard effort that she has been putting into her songs, she will keep on progressing.  It’s not easy she says as fans want her to move into secular music, but she continues to encourage herself by single more of gospel songs. She was a recipient of Panache awards in 2016.
