DVT Academy, a Gauteng based agile consultancy firm, introducing a course called “ICAgile Professional in Agile Testing” from 22nd October in Johannesburg, the fee for which, is R 6500 (exclusive of VAT) per person. The curriculum focuses on Agile Testing processes and techniques along with an exploration of the mindset and role of the Agile Tester. Some of the learning objectives of this course are to be able to differentiate between the various types of testing on an Agile project and to learn different Agile test strategies together with techniques related to release planning, testing within sprints, performance testing, regression testing, pre-deployment testing and product support testing.

A “PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner” course is being conducted in Cape Town from 26th October, and in Johannesburg from 9th December, priced at R 12,500 (exclusive of VAT) per person. It will be an intensive course of three days. Learning outcomes will be that participants will be able to execute Scrum, Kanban or any hybrid model of the two by the end of it. Participants will be taken through the entire Agile Development Life Cycle using a real world project.

“Agile Deep Dive” - an ICAgile Certified Professional course is being conducted in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth at various dates, and is priced at R 4,500. The learning objectives of this course are to understand the Agile mindset, values, principles and founding concepts which are grounded in what it means to be “agile”, and achieve organisational agility, without focusing on a single Agile methodology. This is a comprehensive course, although it is usually of a two days duration, it works on the concept of “soaking in time” for the ideas to be internalised by the student.

DVT is also offering a course on Scrum Master Training in Johannesburg from 4th November as well as in three different time slots in 2016. It is priced at R 6,500. The learning objective of this two-day training is to give the participant (who will be a practitioner of Scrum of any level) an effective working knowledge in creating high-performing, self-organising teams.
