Glendale/ California: Local Sound Lighting and Video company specializing in DJ gear and all aspects of the entertainment industry. “Astro AVL (Audio Video Lighting) has been in business just over 38 years. In a never before seen event Astro AVL is hosting a DJ battle of epic proportions called “Across the Fader” an elimination style talent, skill and ability contest where DJs face off and compete for the grand prize in a winner take all slugfest of DJ scratches, cuts and call outs. The grand prize is $13,000 in audio equipment supplied by the Events sponsors Mackie, Pioneer and Rane the industry leaders in high end DJ equipment.

DJ’s from all parts of California and places as far away as Las Vegas and parts of New Mexico. Over 100 DJ’s responded to the initial challenge issued back in April to throw their hat in to the ring. Only the top 50 were crowned as good enough to compete. Multi talented DJs slug it out on high tech audio equipment, turntables and a stack of booming speakers. This is a battle between the best of the best.

The contest is held at the rear of Astro’s Glendale location (6615 San Fernando Rd). Crowds of motivated music fans descend on the location to catch a glimpse of these top DJ’s dueling it out for the winner take all grand prize that seemingly gets bigger every week.

The spectators to this event although are large in number cross the spectrum of all walks of life, from families to other turntableists and DJ’s and range in ages from 6 to 60, they clap, cheer and watch the action passionately on the big screens suspended above the stage. The music pumps, the crowds sway, and the DJs put on a show that will never be matched in any top shelf Los Angeles club.

This once underground event, was recently discovered by FOX 11 news, who did a 4 Minute piece on it explaining all aspects of the event on the evening news and will return to cover this event for the final battle. Audiences are encouraged to attend; this event is for people of all ages. Free Admission, door prizes, and an appearance by several of Los Angeles famous gourmet food trucks Roll’ N Lobster, Mustache Mikes just to name a few. One of the food trucks has even gone as far as naming the entrees after competing DJ’s. Monster energy drinks will be on scene giving away free energy drinks. DJ’s from Indie100.com will be handing out free DVDs and giving away other prizes during the event. The event will be streamed online live on ustream.com

The final showdown will be Wednesday, Oct 10th at 7:00 PM.
