Choi Seon-eun, CEO of Dr. Oregonin, will be honored with the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award for her contributions to the development of the local startup ecosystem. This recognition will take place during the 2024 Gangwon Startup Week, which opens on December 6th at Kangwon National University’s Startup Cube.
The Gangwon Regional Office of SMEs and Startups and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province announced that they have selected individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to regional growth through innovative technology development and startup commercialization.

Focus on University-Led Startups
This year’s Gangwon Startup Week will highlight startups emerging from university-led initiatives in the region. The event aims to foster collaboration among local entrepreneurs, expanding market opportunities and driving growth.
Lee Wang-jae, head of the Gangwon Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, emphasized, “We’ve structured this Startup Week to serve as a foundation for the expansion and growth of regional startups. We hope this event becomes a catalyst for revitalizing Gangwon’s industrial ecosystem, driven by university-based entrepreneurship.”
